During trying time, this song really speaks to me.
God will make the way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me.

During trying time, this song really speaks to me.
God will make the way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me.

No matter how old we are
No matter what stage of life we are in
O Lord, help us to move on and
move forward
not aimlessly, but to You

When at crossroads, we can take heart in
Jeremiah 29:11 ‘I know what I am planning for you,’ says the Lord.’I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.’

This cartoon is inspired by the following verses:
Deuteronomy 7:6 - For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
The Lord is amazing in His love, cos everyone of us is special and loved by Him.
Psalm 145:9 - The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.
But that is true cos the Holy Spirit is given to all who believe and Jesus died for these people!
John 16:7 - Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

Holy Ground lyrics goes like - this is holy ground.. we are standing on holy ground.. and I just thought that in life, we are so afraid of stepping into holes! Like the roads in China which are full of holes, I really got to thread carefully. However, another thought came to me that though we think we will drop into the holes and go to great length to avoid stepping into one, God will not let us fall.. no matter what.
This verse from Colossians 3:17 - And whatever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Jesus is like our microphone to God.. only when we pray!
Just written the following poems for my husband to cheer him up as he’s down with flu:
Your Love
Your love
is in the air I breathe
that never will cease
Freely given
Not lightly taken
Your love
is my one true bliss
You
You make my heart flutter
turn my knees to butter
Sometimes I wonder
Love’s amazing power
Inspired from the Song of Songs 7: 10
I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me.

After reading John Piper’s Don’t Waste Your Life, I’m convicted of the one suspicion that I never wanted to believe. Once, another girlfriend told me that maybe God didn’t create me for A purpose the way I think it’d be.. like to be an evangelical cartoonist!
The suspicion is that only God can fill up the hole. But how?
Matthew 10:39 - Whoever finds his life will lose it, whoever loses it for My sake will find it.
The above verse holds the key. The more we want to do something with our life for our sake (whether it’s clothed as for the best of our family, best of the society, best in our existing situation), the further we get from the fulfilling life that God promises. I think to myself ‘How can God use me for something big? And all I think about is how can I be big?’
It’s not an easy call, otherwise, Paul wouldn’t need to die daily (1 Corinthian 15:31). Everyday, we have to remember that just because the sun shines for everyone, that life goes on, it’s already mercy from God who is withholding his judgment.
John Piper’s advice is that everyday we give thanks, we fellowship with Him and when the uncertain time calls, we will adopt an attitude of ”If I perish, I perish” (Esther 4:16) Just as I’ve searched everywhere and God found me, I will now pursue this and I pray that hole be filled!
As posted 11 March 07, life’s purpose, the passion, the thing that defines me and that will consume me is something that I’ve always searched before I’m a Christian and after..
It became more disturbing after I’m a Christian, for doesn’t Jesus say in John 4:14 ‘but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’
Why do I still then feel so thirsty? Here’s a snapshot from my brain:
In the last post, God is big and I’m small. In ”reality” (quote on quote because that’s how we see which is not what is”), I see myself as BIG with other people (Christians/not Christians) as smaller. But I work for the same thing as everyone works for:
Stay healthy
Be wealthy
Love your friend and family
and for most christians, go church regularly.
The above life is what our best brain can manage, pouring in all resources from self-help books, from observing the world, for meeting expectations of people around us. But the above is clearly insufficent.
One clear hint to me is that it does not satisfy my thirst.
Second clear hint is everyone’s treading on the same safe path. The path where we’ll not be labelled as making a wrong move or being a moron, but is life just that?
